Shipping Policy

ContainerVista Shipping Policy

Effective Date: September 2026

At ContainerVista, we understand that delivery is a major part of purchasing a shipping container or commercial equipment.

This Shipping Policy explains our standard delivery process, the $450 flat-rate delivery charge for eligible standard deliveries, site-access requirements, placement considerations, delivery scheduling, specialized services, and customer responsibilities.

ContainerVista coordinates deliveries throughout the United States based on:

  • Product availability

  • Delivery location

  • Carrier availability

  • Product size and type

  • Site accessibility

  • Required delivery equipment

  • Special handling requirements

Before ordering, customers should carefully review the delivery requirements for their location.

1. Standard Shipping and Delivery Fee

ContainerVista applies a $450 flat-rate shipping and delivery fee to standard eligible deliveries throughout the United States.

This standard delivery charge applies where the product can be transported, unloaded, and placed using normal delivery equipment and reasonable site access.

The standard delivery fee does not automatically include specialized services such as:

  • Crane service

  • Specialized lifting equipment

  • Elevated placement

  • Difficult-access placement

  • Extended unloading

  • Additional delivery personnel

  • Special permits

  • Re-delivery

  • Unusual transportation requirements

Where specialized services are necessary, any known additional charges will be communicated before the applicable service is scheduled whenever reasonably possible.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, the $450 delivery fee is separate from the advertised product price.

2. Products We Deliver

ContainerVista coordinates delivery for a wide range of products.

Depending on current inventory, these may include:

  • Standard shipping containers

  • High cube containers

  • Used containers

  • One-trip containers

  • Refrigerated containers

  • Open-side containers

  • Double-door containers

  • Flat racks

  • Modified containers

  • Office containers

  • Modular buildings

  • Cabins

  • Trailers

  • Commercial equipment

  • Ice vending machines

  • Container accessories

Different products may require different delivery equipment.

Browse our available products to review current inventory.

3. Delivery Locations

ContainerVista may coordinate deliveries to suitable locations such as:

  • Residential properties

  • Construction sites

  • Farms

  • Agricultural properties

  • Warehouses

  • Commercial properties

  • Manufacturing facilities

  • Industrial sites

  • Schools

  • Government facilities

  • Storage yards

Delivery is subject to safe access and suitable site conditions.

Some locations may require additional review before delivery can be confirmed.

4. Order Processing and Delivery Scheduling

After an order has been confirmed and required payment has been received and verified, ContainerVista can begin delivery coordination.

The process may include:

  1. Confirming the delivery address

  2. Confirming product availability

  3. Reviewing product dimensions and weight

  4. Reviewing site access

  5. Identifying suitable transportation equipment

  6. Coordinating with the carrier

  7. Establishing an estimated delivery window

  8. Confirming delivery arrangements with the customer

For information about payment verification, review our Payment Policy.

5. Delivery Timeframes

Delivery times vary.

Factors can include:

  • Product location

  • Delivery destination

  • Distance

  • Carrier availability

  • Product size

  • Product type

  • Weather

  • Road conditions

  • Site accessibility

  • Specialized equipment

  • Permit requirements

  • Transportation restrictions

Customers will receive an estimated delivery timeframe after their order and delivery requirements have been reviewed.

Delivery dates and time windows should be treated as estimates until transportation arrangements are confirmed.

6. Delivery Methods

The delivery method depends on the product and site.

Tilt-Bed Delivery

Tilt-bed or roll-off style delivery is commonly used for standard shipping containers.

During unloading, the bed is raised so the container can be carefully positioned onto the prepared site.

This normally requires:

  • Sufficient truck access

  • Adequate straight-line space

  • Stable ground

  • Sufficient overhead clearance

  • An appropriate placement area

Flatbed Delivery

Flatbed trailers may be used for:

  • Certain specialized containers

  • Multi-container orders

  • Longer-distance transportation

  • Products that require separate unloading equipment

A forklift, crane, or other lifting equipment may be necessary if the carrier cannot unload directly.

Specialized Delivery

Certain situations may require additional equipment or planning.

Examples include:

  • Restricted access

  • Steep or sloped property

  • Tight turns

  • Elevated placement

  • Narrow entrances

  • Crane placement

  • Difficult terrain

  • Large or unusually heavy equipment

Specialized services may involve additional charges beyond the standard delivery fee.

7. Delivery Site Access

Customers are responsible for making sure the delivery site can safely accommodate the transportation vehicle and unloading process.

Consider:

  • Road width

  • Driveway width

  • Gate width

  • Turning radius

  • Ground conditions

  • Overhead clearance

  • Trees

  • Utility lines

  • Buildings

  • Fences

  • Parked vehicles

  • Other obstructions

The final access requirement depends on the truck, product, and placement method.

8. Clearance Requirements

As a general planning guide for some standard deliveries, customers should allow approximately:

  • 12 feet of clear width

  • 14 feet of vertical clearance

However, these figures are only general guidelines.

A specific delivery may require more space depending on:

  • Container length

  • High cube height

  • Truck configuration

  • Tilt-bed requirements

  • Turning angle

  • Placement direction

  • Terrain

Do not assume these minimum figures guarantee successful delivery.

Customers should disclose tight-access locations before dispatch.

9. Space Required for Tilt-Bed Delivery

Tilt-bed delivery requires substantially more space than the final footprint of the container.

For example, a property may have enough room for a 40ft container but still lack enough room for the truck and trailer to unload it safely.

Before ordering, evaluate:

  • Approach distance

  • Unloading direction

  • Turning space

  • Exit route

  • Nearby structures

  • Overhead hazards

If access is uncertain, contact ContainerVista before delivery is scheduled.

10. Ground Conditions

The delivery and placement area should generally be:

  • Firm

  • Stable

  • Relatively level

  • Accessible

  • Capable of supporting the truck and product

Problematic conditions can include:

  • Mud

  • Soft soil

  • Standing water

  • Deep snow

  • Excessive slopes

  • Loose fill

  • Unstable ground

The driver may decline to enter or unload where conditions appear unsafe.

11. Preparing the Placement Surface

Possible support surfaces can include:

  • Compacted gravel

  • Concrete pads

  • Concrete footings

  • Suitable blocking

  • Engineered foundations

The appropriate foundation depends on:

  • Product

  • Soil

  • Intended use

  • Local requirements

  • Whether the installation is temporary or permanent

ContainerVista does not represent that one foundation type is suitable for every project.

For permanent, occupied, or heavily modified installations, professional evaluation may be appropriate.

12. Placement Area Preparation

Before the delivery vehicle arrives, remove:

  • Vehicles

  • Equipment

  • Construction materials

  • Debris

  • Low branches

  • Temporary obstacles

Also make sure the desired placement location is clearly identified.

Customers should know which direction they want the container doors to face before unloading begins.

Changing orientation after placement may require separate lifting or relocation equipment.

13. Driver Safety and Placement Authority

The delivery driver has final authority over whether a requested placement can be completed safely with the available equipment.

A driver may decline a requested placement because of:

  • Unsafe ground

  • Insufficient clearance

  • Limited maneuvering room

  • Utility lines

  • Trees

  • Structures

  • Excessive slope

  • Risk of vehicle damage

  • Risk of property damage

  • Risk of injury

Safe delivery takes priority over a requested placement location.

14. Overhead Hazards

Before delivery, inspect the complete route and placement area for overhead hazards.

These may include:

  • Electrical lines

  • Telephone or communication lines

  • Tree branches

  • Roof overhangs

  • Carports

  • Signs

  • Building structures

High cube containers and raised tilt-bed trailers can require significant vertical clearance during unloading.

15. Local Permits and Regulations

Container placement requirements vary by location.

Customers are responsible for determining whether they need:

  • Building permits

  • Zoning approval

  • Land-use approval

  • HOA approval

  • Fire-code approval

  • Electrical permits

  • Plumbing permits

  • Foundation approval

  • Other local authorization

ContainerVista does not guarantee that a particular container or installation will be approved by local authorities.

Portable does not necessarily mean permit-free.

Our Shipping Container Buyer’s Guide provides additional planning information.

16. Shipping Costs and Specialized Services

The $450 flat-rate delivery fee covers eligible standard delivery.

Additional charges may apply when the order requires services beyond standard transportation and unloading.

These may include:

  • Crane service

  • Specialized lifting

  • Elevated placement

  • Difficult-access handling

  • Extended driver waiting time

  • Additional labor

  • Special transportation permits

  • Additional equipment

  • Re-delivery

  • Storage caused by an unsuccessful delivery

Where reasonably possible, applicable charges will be communicated before the additional service is scheduled.

17. Customer Delivery Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for providing accurate information.

Delivery Address

Provide the complete and correct:

  • Street address

  • City

  • State

  • ZIP code

Contact Information

Provide a current phone number and other contact details needed for delivery coordination.

Site Information

Disclose relevant information such as:

  • Narrow roads

  • Gates

  • Soft ground

  • Slopes

  • Utility lines

  • Trees

  • Tight turns

  • Restricted access

Placement Instructions

Explain the desired placement direction and any important site considerations.

Site Preparation

Have the delivery area prepared before the scheduled arrival.

18. Customer Availability

A customer or authorized representative may need to be available during delivery.

That person should be able to:

  • Confirm the placement location

  • Answer access questions

  • Identify property boundaries

  • Provide placement instructions

If nobody is available where customer input is necessary, delivery may need to be rescheduled.

19. Delivery Delays

Transportation schedules can be affected by circumstances outside reasonable control.

Examples include:

  • Severe weather

  • Traffic

  • Accidents

  • Road closures

  • Mechanical issues

  • Carrier delays

  • Equipment availability

  • Permit delays

  • Unexpected site conditions

  • Natural disasters

If a significant delay occurs, delivery arrangements may need to be revised.

Estimated delivery dates are not guarantees unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

20. Failed Delivery Attempts

A delivery may be unsuccessful if the driver cannot safely access or unload at the location.

Examples include:

  • Blocked driveway

  • Incorrect address

  • Insufficient clearance

  • Low power lines

  • Unsafe ground

  • Insufficient turning space

  • Customer unavailable when required

  • Unprepared placement site

  • Unauthorized placement location

  • Severe site conditions

If a failed delivery results from circumstances within the customer’s responsibility, additional charges may apply.

These may include:

  • Re-delivery

  • Additional transportation

  • Driver waiting time

  • Storage

  • Specialized equipment

21. Delivery Inspection

Customers should inspect the product as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

For a shipping container, consider checking:

  • Correct size

  • Container identification number

  • Exterior condition

  • Doors

  • Locking rods

  • Door seals

  • Flooring

  • Roof

  • Walls

  • Visible transportation damage

For commercial equipment, check the relevant visible components and included accessories.

22. Reporting Delivery Damage

If you believe the product was damaged during transportation:

  1. Take clear photographs of the affected area.

  2. Photograph the entire product.

  3. Record the product or container identification number where applicable.

  4. Keep your delivery documentation.

  5. Contact ContainerVista promptly.

  6. Avoid modifying or repairing the affected area before review unless immediate action is required for safety.

Photographs and delivery documents may be requested when reviewing a claim.

For more information, review our Return & Refund Policy.

23. Product Condition vs. Delivery Damage

Normal used-product wear should not automatically be treated as delivery damage.

Used containers may have:

  • Dents

  • Scratches

  • Surface rust

  • Paint fading

  • Previous repairs

  • Flooring wear

  • Shipping marks

A delivery-damage claim should generally relate to damage believed to have occurred during the transportation or unloading process rather than previously disclosed or expected used condition.

24. Delivery of High Cube Containers

High cube containers are taller than standard-height containers.

This makes overhead clearance especially important.

Check:

  • Utility lines

  • Trees

  • Gates

  • Building overhangs

  • Bridges

  • Covered entrances

The delivery vehicle may also increase the effective height during transport or unloading.

25. Refrigerated Container Delivery

Refrigerated Containers may require additional consideration because of their refrigeration machinery and weight.

Before delivery, consider:

  • Placement orientation

  • Electrical-service location

  • Refrigeration-end access

  • Maintenance clearance

  • Ground support

Electrical connection is generally separate from transportation and placement unless specifically included in the applicable order.

26. Modified Container Delivery

Modified Containers may include:

  • Doors

  • Windows

  • HVAC systems

  • Electrical equipment

  • Roll-up doors

  • Interior finishes

  • Other installed components

These features can affect:

  • Product weight

  • Transport requirements

  • Lifting points

  • Placement

  • Access requirements

Delivery should be planned based on the exact modified unit.

27. Open-Side and Specialized Container Delivery

Containers with specialized door configurations or structural features may require additional handling.

Examples include:

  • Open-side containers

  • Double-door containers

  • Flat racks

  • Open-top containers

  • Tunnel containers

The applicable delivery method depends on the individual product.

28. Delivery of Trailers and Commercial Equipment

ContainerVista also lists products that are not conventional shipping containers.

Depending on current inventory, these may include:

  • Trailers

  • Water wagons

  • Ice vending machines

  • Cabins

  • Modular equipment

These products may require different transportation and unloading arrangements.

Do not assume that the same access requirements or unloading methods used for a standard shipping container apply to every product on the website.

29. Multiple-Container Orders

Large or multi-container orders may be delivered:

  • On different trucks

  • On different dates

  • From different inventory locations

  • Through different carriers

Scheduling depends on:

  • Quantity

  • Product type

  • Pickup location

  • Carrier capacity

  • Destination

  • Site access

The applicable shipping charges for a multi-unit order should be shown on the quotation or invoice before payment.

30. Delivery Address Changes

Contact ContainerVista as soon as possible if your delivery address changes.

A changed destination may affect:

  • Freight cost

  • Delivery schedule

  • Carrier availability

  • Sales tax

  • Route planning

Do not assume an existing delivery quote remains valid after changing the destination.

31. Delivery and Sales Tax

The tax treatment of delivery charges can vary by jurisdiction.

Applicable tax may therefore be added to delivery charges where required.

Review our Sales Tax Policy for additional information.

32. Delivery and Returns

Delivery charges and return transportation are separate issues.

If a return is approved, responsibility for return freight depends on:

  • Reason for return

  • Product condition

  • Order terms

  • Whether an error or verified discrepancy occurred

  • Transportation already completed

The original delivery fee is not automatically refundable.

Review our Return & Refund Policy before requesting a return.
